Sonoran Glaze

Sonoran Glaze is part of Esther Kurle’s Botanical Series, drawing on the artist’s memories of nature and translating them into an expressive contemporary visual language.

The composition brings together dense botanical forms, layered leaves and desert-inspired vegetation. Deep greens, muted pinks and earthy tones are framed by bold, gestural lines, creating a dense landscape that feels both organic and deliberately constructed.

Rather than reproducing nature realistically, Kurle distils it into colour, rhythm and form. The result is a botanical landscape that feels immersive and slightly mysterious — as though remembered rather than observed.
